a pumpkin patch is an unknown to the inmates of terra australis, as is the whole halloween thing really. we understand the concept but we don't know.
well i am happy to say as a former inmate, that the whole pumpkin patch deal was a thoroughly delightful experience from beginning to end.
half the fun was driving by multiple pumpkin patches searching for the ever so elusive heiser farms. why drive by other pumpkin patches? well, visit heiser farms and find out for yourself.
so it was the last day of the working week and all was quiet at the farm, so our expanded clan basically had the run of the farm. before we even reached the actual pumpkin patch, the kids were having the time with the hay maze, the slides and the water pump race to name a few.
once we reached the patch, it was an amazing sight. pumpkins of all colours, shapes and sizes as far as the eye could see. the abundance was captivating to these virgin eyes.
as an added bonus were the occasional seven foot tall sunflowers. they were past their best before date but nothing could take away their grandeur. i would never have imagined!
